Social Media has become the new yardstick for a lot of people measure their worth. It puts a tremendous amount of pressure on vulnerable minds to paint the perfect picture of their life for others and the consequences can be devastating. Humans have always been inherently competitive. Of course healthy competition is good…great even. But a major aspect of various social medias today fuel unhealthy competition. Not everyone realizes that others are posting the best versions of themselves and not the sad, boring or regular stuff. This paves way for insecurities and inferiority complex to creep in and steal a person’s peace of mind. I really hope people start using Social Medias to really connect with one another in true sense and not get carried away while trying too hard to make themselves look better. We need to relax. Life is not a race. It’s a really long match! And social media is NOT the playground.
